The holidays are a time for giving, joy, and a little extra fun—and this year at Nishime Martial Arts, we added a mischievous twist to the season with our Kicking It with The Grinch Day! This special event in Cincinnati and Florence brought together students, families, and even the famously grumpy green guy for a day full of laughter, action, and generosity.
A Grinch-tastic Day of Fun
From the moment The Grinch arrived (with a sly grin, of course), the excitement was contagious. Kids got the chance to take part in a karate class that included board-breaking, where they channeled their inner Whos and proved that their punches were anything but “grinchy.” The festive atmosphere was elevated by a TV raffle, which added an extra layer of anticipation for attendees.
Giving Back to the Community
The heart of the day wasn’t just about fun—it was about making a difference. Families showed incredible generosity by bringing non-perishable food items for our local food bank. Together, we helped spread the holiday spirit to those in need, proving that even The Grinch can be inspired to grow his heart three sizes.
A Grinch with a Black Belt?
Our Adult Jiu Jitsu class couldn’t resist joining in on the fun. They welcomed The Grinch for a group photo that was equal parts hilarious and heartwarming. Seeing The Grinch surrounded by disciplined martial artists was a sight to behold—and perhaps a reminder that even he could learn a thing or two about teamwork and respect.
Capturing the Memories
Families wrapped up the day by taking pictures with The Grinch, creating keepsakes to remember the event. It was wonderful to see smiles all around, from our youngest students to their proud parents.
Thank You for Making It Special
Events like these remind us of the incredible community we have at Nishime Martial Arts. A big thank you goes out to everyone who participated, donated, and helped make Kicking It with The Grinch Day such a success. Your energy and generosity brought the holiday spirit to life in the dojo and beyond.
As we continue the holiday season, we’re reminded that martial arts isn’t just about physical strength—it’s about building a stronger community, one act of kindness at a time.
Happy Holidays from all of us at Nishime Martial Arts!
