May was Women’s Month at the Cincinnati location of Nishime Martial Arts.
We started with a Mom’s Night where dojo mothers and their friends learned how to defend themselves from the most common attacks. Shihan Jason taught them how to use Brazilian Jiu Jitsu techniques to resist chokes and other holds. Class was followed by wine, cheese, fruit, and other refreshments.
The following week, we started a Women’s Self-defense Series for women who are interested in learning how to protect themselves. The three classes were free to women in the Cincinnati area. The class hit maximum enrollment in two days and a couple of spots that opened up later were filled as soon as we announced availability. We will definitely be offering this class again.
